On a summer morning, the old man rocksĀ in the shade of his front porch.
He remembers his mother holding him on her lap, rocking him on this very porch. He remembers his wife rocking their daughter here. He remembers rocking with his wife here.
He misses them so.
A warm breeze caresses his face, and the creaking of his rocking chair sounds like a lullaby.
He lays his head back on a pillow. His rocking slows, then stops. He falls asleep.
In his dreams, they are together, smiling at one another, gently rocking in the shade on a summer morning.
A nice little heart-warming story. The kind I like.
A sweet picture.
Lovely way to express loss and loneliness.
So beautiful and poignant
