After diagnosis, she refused the happy pills and answered the advertisement.
“Weep into this dish, please.”
The room was full of tiny jars of tears, twinkling with salt.
Alice’s heart, aching with sadness, had financial value. The tears ran in rivulets down her cheeks, dripped off her chin.
The technician smiled his approval as Alice sobbed her anguish onto the glass.
Eventually, he paid her.
“Same time tomorrow?”
She nodded, exhausted and red-eyed.
