Sammy

By Laura Solomon

I fell from the sky on a Tuesday. Came down full of piss and thunder, but terrified too. What was happening? I was a rebel angel. Once on earth I donned dark glasses and tight black jeans, rode a Harley, and had two tattoos inked. On my left arm, a dragon, on my right, a white lotus. People were scared of me, an effect I didn’t mind. I was a god in disguise. I picked up a mini-skirted girlfriend named Tiffany with an eighties perm and a lip piercing and I was set. Planet Earth—I thought I owned the place.

The Power of Imagery with Nina Schuyler

September 12 & 13 on Zoom
Enrollment closes Thursday, September 3 at 7:00 PM Pacific

If your descriptions are vivid but your stories still feel thin, this workshop is for you.

Join award-winning author Nina Schuyler to learn the difference between description, which tells a reader what things look like, and imagery, which carries plot, character, and meaning at the same time.

In just two days, you'll learn to choose images that hold emotion without naming it, pair them so each one deepens the other, and build patterns that gather meaning as the story moves.

Good imagery. A combo of Easy Rider and E.T.
