“You know what our problem is?”
A middle-aged man plopped a carton of milk on the counter by the register. He wore a beige cap with an ichthys on it and light blue Crocs.
“We’re a Godless country,” he continued, gesturing to the cashier—a feminine looking Hispanic kid. “Damn shame.”
Then he turned his head and looked at me as if to say: Damn right I drink milk, you judgmental prick.
He paid and left.
I walked up and said, “What crawled up his ass.”
The cashier waved his hand and snapped.
“Those Crocs for one, honey,” he answered, smiling.
A nice comment on grouchy old men. Got a chuckle out of this one.
Me, too. A lot to say about this middle-aged man in just few words.
Had to laugh at your cute stereotypes. You captured them well.
Great ending!
