She doesn’t think she will be chosen, so she signs up. Her coworkers crack up at the idea, even though it was their dare. Secretly she hopes she will be picked. She has never been a main character, not even in her own life.
When she gets the call she thinks it’s a cruel joke. Then she receives the contestant roster. She sees her name and that photo of her in the cerulean blue dress. It baffles everyone, most of all her.
Her mother calls her, a rare treat: “This is your one chance to be somebody. Don’t fuck it up.”
Love it!
Lol. omg, this is good.
She’s never been a main character in her own life. Really good.
I’m with Toni on that… it’s a great line! In the imagined short story, I hope she is picked… And then rejects him because he is not good enough for her.
🙂
I love this! A great story.
Well done. Says a lot in 101 words.
