When I was a kid, I loved being at my grandpa’s house. I learned swear words from his parrot that made me the badass of the preschool set. I danced jigs to the lilting rhythm of ‘The Irish Washerwoman’ as he played his fiddle; I searched in vain for the pieces of gold he assured me were buried in the backyard. And I was mesmerized by the stories of his many harrowing sea voyages.
But I especially loved the day I took him to school as my show and tell. He took out his glass eye, and my teacher keeled over.
Wonderful story
Well written and made me smile until the end when I laughed out loud.
