LeRoy was the class clown. He acted up every time his teacher assigned routine busy work. For punishment, he had to stand in the corner.
On the playground, LeRoy’s classmates always wanted him on their side for pig slaughter. The bullies never went near him. Then his school invested in trendy new standup desks. LeRoy rebelled as usual to routine math and reading lessons beyond his grasp.
He was ordered to go sit in the corner. That was more than LeRoy could take. He dropped out and went directly into sports. Fans adored LeRoy because he never sat on the bench.
All I could think of was “You GO LeRoy!” A character so well developed in so few words to evoke those strong feelings is a feat! I want more…thanks, David Ross
