The dental hygienist eyes Virginia, Revlon Red lip curling up to expose a yellowing incisor. “Did you know you resemble a Shih Tzu?”
She laughs. Virginia, mouth cranked open, peeks out from beneath shaggy bangs that swoop over her forehead and down the bridge of her nose. The hygienist looks rather canine herself—of the wolfish variety: Bristly hair, protracted nose. Out on the hunt. Virginia shrinks away from the sharp metal scaler.
The hygienist tsk tsks, “Hold still. Such huge teeth for a tiny thing.”
She scrapes, stabbing deep. Virginia snaps down, draws blood.
“Did you know Shih Tzus bite?”
Rawwwrr cat fight! Great!
