I have been ironing Harlan’s bowling shirt for what feels like days. So hard to get it right, especially with Guttersnipes sewn cursively across the front. And he won’t get off my back about it since tonight is the championship.
Or was it last night? No matter, at least Harlan’s quiet now. What’s that splash of red on the tip of the iron?
Harlan’s such a sweetie. Watching baseball, he’s usually complaining about balls and balks and other such nonsense. I’ll have to make him a special dinner tonight. Everything’s so nice and peaceful now.
Except for all those darn flies.
Enjoyed this a lot. I like how you’ve been able to portray a sense of character in such a few words.
What a wonderful, dark tale. The whole story told without telling. Well done.
Dark and funny! Great story.
Dark yet funny. Bravo!
