Strolling along the beach, I looked at the stars. How they shone so bright, yet were so far away. How they constantly moved through the galaxies, yet were just gas. Huge balls of exploding gas that, from a distance, looked so beautiful, but could be so fierce, so deadly. A bit like me, I guess. Always putting on a face, not wanting anyone to know the real me. I stopped walking and felt water rush through my toes. I sighed. All of this was stupid really. Pointless analogies. I stood there for a minute longer before sauntering away from the shore.
Poetic reflection and a dose of reality – really good. But, (always a butt) the last line was to dismissive for someone with the talent you just displayed.
Such a surprisingly, moving piece. Like it a lot.
A story of an unfortunate soul who feels aimless and afraid to so into the water (of Life?). Nicely told.
