“I am afraid this is not going to get you anywhere,” came the remark.
His deft fingers continued with the strokes.
“A living out of this? Impossible!” Another jibe.
The contours became more definite.
“Fine! Don’t listen. You will pay for it one day.” The comment came with a shrug of the broad shoulders.
He remembered all this and more while replacing the withered garland around his father’s photo frame, and hanging it back on the wall.
The real-life portrait of his father had given him his first major break in the world of art.
“Wish you were here,” he sighed.
