The weather had turned the lake icy cold. She was lying on the big rock beside the lake, the autumn sunlight pleasantly warming her skin. Her eyes wandered to the other side of the lake where two little girls were playing and running around. She looked below her pelvis and sighed. I could never run like that…
Her golden hair was almost dry now. She sat up, threw one last glance at the girls, and then dived into the lake. The sun rays traced her sparkling sea green tail fin for a moment before she was lost under the dark water.
