Yoga one hour.
Drink three cups of coffee, one glass of juice.
Sift through freezer; find frozen buttermilk corn muffin.
Preheat toaster-oven to 350. Split muffin. Put cold butter slabs on each half. Place on pan in toaster-oven, buttered sides up.
Go to computer. Mull over emails; answer none. Avoid the news; avoid Facebook; avoid people’s names; avoid the past.
Smell fresh-baked aromas wafting across room.
Return to kitchen and marvel that two halves have disappeared.
In their place, on toaster pan, discover perfectly smooth expanse of golden grains of toasted cornmeal, the disintegrated muffin: your life.
Eat with favorite spoon.
Perfect.
You’ve pretty much described my mornings!
You got it, shared it, I loved it.
I love when leftovers become literature!
