The light turns green, and I turn the corner; the sun is hanging just above the horizon tinting the clouds around it a mighty pink. Even though I’m driving, my first instinct is to reach for my phone. He and I used to always send each other sunset or sunrise pictures whenever we were out and saw one. He quit talking to me over a year ago, but I still think of him at moments like this, when the sun is dangling over the horizon about to disappear the same way our friendship did. There and burning strong, then suddenly gone.
Sunset

Good metaphoric use of sunset for the relationship.
Nice imagery.
Did a great job of making the reader wonder what could have happened to their friendship. Well done!
Nice!
