Global pandemic. Online school starting next week. That’ll be different.
Kids grumble about not playing spring sports. I’d like to play, too, but I’d never make the team because I couldn’t afford to play in elite leagues every summer since Kindergarten.
Some whine about missing prom. Like I’d ever be asked to prom. Yesterday, ‘Flatsy Patsy’ was etched on my locker.
No more lunches alone. I’ll eat with my little brother like on weekends. No more teachers begging classmates to take me as their partner for group work. Okay by me.
Social distancing? Heck, I welcome the change.
Thank you, Corona.
Every dark cloud has a sometimes murky silver lijning!
Thank you. As a teacher I saw these kids and ached for them.
Powerful story, well done, though the line about “elite leagues” doesn’t fit with the otherwise strong writing.
Staying at home is a welcome break for so many people. Very nice story.
