Sweet Surrender

Sweet Surrender

By Jim Freeze

Darcy was a good-looking young woman of thirty years. A platinum blonde who wore tight-fitting, low-cut dresses, she was proud of what she had and enjoyed showing it off.

She was in demand, judging from the remarks I heard about her on the street. It was pleasing to watch her exhibit herself to men and inspire their lust. She was real whistle bait.

I fell hard for her alluring ways and asked to get together.

But she never gave me a thought, being happily married with three beautiful children. It was a pleasant surprise, and I fell for her even more.

The Power of Imagery with Nina Schuyler

September 12 & 13 on Zoom
Enrollment closes Thursday, September 3 at 7:00 PM Pacific

If your descriptions are vivid but your stories still feel thin, this workshop is for you.

Join award-winning author Nina Schuyler to learn the difference between description, which tells a reader what things look like, and imagery, which carries plot, character, and meaning at the same time.

In just two days, you'll learn to choose images that hold emotion without naming it, pair them so each one deepens the other, and build patterns that gather meaning as the story moves.

Guess Platonic love is better than no love at all. Enjoyed this story.

Can’t wait to see what happens when she is a 40 something. Great writing.
