That World

That World

By Stephen Lodge

She wanted someone strong, who would shield her from hurt and wrong and set her on a course for where she belonged. She didn’t want another loser, a player, a lounger, a guy who was always about to get rich and famous on the back of an unfinished (unwritten, more like) song.

It was time to head for civilisation. Too long had she been adrift in a land without light.

Goodbye, land where no one smiles, where streets of misery stretch for miles.

The spring in each excited step told her that world was gone; now, she was embracing the new.

The Power of Imagery with Nina Schuyler

September 12 & 13 on Zoom
Enrollment closes Thursday, September 3 at 7:00 PM Pacific

If your descriptions are vivid but your stories still feel thin, this workshop is for you.

Join award-winning author Nina Schuyler to learn the difference between description, which tells a reader what things look like, and imagery, which carries plot, character, and meaning at the same time.

In just two days, you'll learn to choose images that hold emotion without naming it, pair them so each one deepens the other, and build patterns that gather meaning as the story moves.
