Stepping into the ring, beautiful in her sparkling blue bodysuit and hair pinned in a bun, Rosa awaited her introduction.
“And now, Rosa, the Amazing Tightrope Acrobat,” said the announcer.
The audience, quiet, waited for Rosa to cross with only her pole for guidance.
She navigated the performance space with ease and climbed the ladder: for her, it was a well-trodden path.
At full height, the audience gasped as she fumbled, and rebalanced. After her fall years ago, she always paused mid-way to feel the wire beneath her feet.
Finally, Rosa bowed and waved, the roaring crowd ignorant to her blindness.
