The airport bus stopped near the terminal building, full of excited travellers. Charmain picked up her bag and got off. The smell of jet fuel hung in the air and the summer sun felt warm on her face, though it was still early morning. Crossing the road, she stopped for a moment in the last pool of sunshine, face turned upwards.
Sighing to herself, Charmain turned and entered the terminal building. She dreaded the next few hours. Glancing at the flight indicator board she already knew time and destination. Another eight hours at the duty-free perfume counter working in artificial light.
Nice ending twist. Been there, done that..
