“Who’s that?” Joe, a regular, asked the bartender about the hybrid female who sat alone.
“She’s a fauna-human.”
“She looks lonely,” Joe said. “Bet I can get her to open up.”
The bartender chuckled. “Go for it!”
Joe slid next to her. “Do you come here often?”
She smiled. “I need a smoke. I’m going outside.”
“Hey, what’s your name?” he asked, following her into the deserted alley.
“My name’s Mantrap.” Suddenly, her chest opened, and a massive tongue smothered his face, muffling his screams as he was enveloped for digestion.
Joe was right; he did get her to open up.
flora-human, surely?
Oops! Sorry. Just another example (of many) where the effects of my traumatic brain injury gets in the way of what I really meant to say. Neurologist calls those issues my neurological deficits.
I love the visual of her chest opening and a massive tongue coming out. Big twist that made me giggle! Dark comedy at its finest.
Thanks Lisa!
Very witty – made me smile.
Thank you PK.
This made me chuckle today. Thanks for that.
