The sky was a pale blue hue. Small strands of grass tickled my back as I breathed in the warm air, searching for clouds that resembled anything familiar.
I watched the birds soar. Their colours weren’t bright but beautiful nonetheless. I envied their freedom. Coasting on thermal currents, they were able to go anywhere in the world. One bird swooped then glided, the sun glinting on his outstretched wing.
Hearing a shout, I pulled myself from the scene.
When I looked at the sky again, it was darkening. The vanishing sun wouldn’t come back today and I doubted it ever would.
Nice imagery; sad ending. Liked it.
I needed less poetry and more story………
