The waves slammed against the dock as the evening chill set over the horizon. My heart pounded as every nerve in my body came alive with anticipation.
I would leave this hollow existence behind. This world I discovered a decade ago, sunken deep in the ocean’s abyss, would be a memory.
I was saved that day.
Now, the time had finally come.
I lowered my trembling limbs into the murky water and waited.
Above the monstrous ocean, a head appeared. Silver eyes took me in and soon a gentle hand stretched out.
I took it without hesitation.
First, you will drown.
Clear and mysterious at the same time. Beautiful!
Thank you for the read!
More! I need more! Is this possibly a passage from a finished work ?
Not yet! I just suddenly came up with this one evening. I do have some of this idea plotted out further, though.
Amazing, such great word choice and lure. I am not even suprised that it is so great seeing as who wrote it!
Aww! Thank you so much! I’m floored by your support, Melanie!
Excellent read! I hope this is the first of many more to come, about this intriguing and mythical creature.
This is dope as hell!! Great inspiration for a character backstory or just interesting worldbuilding!
More please! The last line was brilliant.
I loved this one. Especially the silver eyes and the ‘First, you will drown.’ Good job 🙂
Great work.
