The Circle

The Circle

By Eleanor Freeman

This is how we found each other: through the satellites above. We quickly fell in love.

We now share a life together—two hundred miles apart. Our bodies yearn to meet.

Then they do, and I remember… A soul encased in a shell my heart doesn’t recognise, yet love and devotion oozes from his every pore. He holds me tighter than I have ever been held. Closing my eyes, I see it’s still him.

My body mirrors his, to conceal my troubled thoughts.

We later say goodbye once more. I head north while he returns south.

I am in love again…

The Power of Imagery with Nina Schuyler

September 12 & 13 on Zoom
Enrollment closes Thursday, September 3 at 7:00 PM Pacific

If your descriptions are vivid but your stories still feel thin, this workshop is for you.

Join award-winning author Nina Schuyler to learn the difference between description, which tells a reader what things look like, and imagery, which carries plot, character, and meaning at the same time.

In just two days, you'll learn to choose images that hold emotion without naming it, pair them so each one deepens the other, and build patterns that gather meaning as the story moves.

Ah, those brief love affairs in the Age of the Cell Phone! Neat little story; I liked it.
