By Benjamin Bishop
All his life, he heard stories of that house. Stories of others who went in, but he had never met anyone who had come out. His friends dared him to go inside.
He shuddered at the tattered shutters hanging like broken teeth, windows grimacing.
He climbed in through a window that was cracked open. Inside, it was cool and dark. He explored everything, snapping mental pictures to tell his friends.
Then he saw him. He knew instantly he’d made a terrible mistake.
Helplessly, his friends watched in horror from outside as he became the newest victim of the ‘Fly Swatter Killer.’
Nice twist at the end! You could expand this into a series of “fly” antics. I loved the story and your voice.
Nicely done.
Love it!
Good twist. I like the description of the broken blinds like teeth…
