As Melissa opens her eyes, her vision is blurry. She struggles to refocus on the image before her. Her vision clears to see shattered glass everywhere, broken lamps, pictures on the floor, blood splattered on the couches, smeared hand prints gliding along the wall.
As she gets up from the floor, she notices that her front door has been taken off the hinges. The wind hits her body, and it feels like a thousand knives stabbing her repeatedly. She sees her face in the shattered glass, and horror consumes her.
She wakes up to find that it was only a dream.
This story is amazing. I would love to see the rest of it. It was like a introduction into a deep murder mystery or something! Great job!
