My son has issued an ultimatum.
To be fair, I can’t blame him. The drugs on the shelf and the walker near my bed seem to scream at me, even as the mountain breeze caresses my face. But I am confused. Martha had always been the practical one.
Could I leave her for a faraway land?
Some boys are playing ball on the road outside the cemetery.
I sit near her grave, feel her presence and flinch at the thought of leaving her. My question remains unasked.
“No!”
Vehement shouts of protest come from across the road.
I have my answer.
High level writing with a good narration kudos to the writer
