A forlorn creature stood alone in the shabby stall. For days it had transported its load as a loyal beast of burden, but age and the unrelenting desert sun had taken its toll. The once-strong back that delivered such precious cargo now sagged, while legs no longer straight and sure began to tremble with weariness and threaten to buckle.
An unearthly light grew in the stable, engulfing every dark corner. Heavenly voices sang, and man and beast felt joy. The donkey was not forgotten. With limbs renewed to youthful strength and vigor, the faithful creature bowed its head to the manger.
A beautiful little Christmas story. Thanks!
Thanks, Bobby. Merry Christmas!
I’m backed up on my reading and all, but this was such sweet story. Donkeys are underloved!
Thanks, Sue.
