The first man—tall and good looking—had rescued the woman. Now they were engaged.
The woman—dramatically pretty and lithe of limb, once destitute, and marooned in this land—knew that men were men here as everywhere, and showed scandalous skin at the community pool.
The second man—taller and better looking— approached the woman as she stretched in the sun. He jiggled her big toe. Watching from a distance, the first man saw his fiancĂ©e smile warmly at the man.
The first man dove into the pool and held his breath well under, forestalling his inevitable surrender to fate.
Oh, the cycles, the circle “games” — good story.
Thanks Tony.
You succeeded in leaving us wanting…more!
Thanks Jeff. Taking a break from novel-writing, so there will be more.
The ending makes me wish the guy had opted for “flight” instead of “flight,” yet this is all too often the way it goes.
Yes, as per Bobby. Made it almost a surprise ending. Liked it.
Thanks Vesna. It’s cool, that you guys are talking about it.
Another good read, Jon.
Hi Paul, thank you.
