The Ghost Writer

The Ghost Writer

By Rebecca Goldthorpe

The man rubbed his eyes as they became accustomed to the light. He’d left the thick drapes open this time, hoping for answers.

He hadn’t expected to sleep and braced himself for what came next.

Pushing back the eiderdown, he swung his legs and took some deep breaths.

He loosened the laces at his chest and slid a clammy hand underneath his nightshirt.

He froze, knowing what to expect before he removed his hand.

It was black again!

Reflected in the mirror were the chilling words, ‘I’M COMING FOR YOU CYRUS”

Could the ghost stories he’d once ridiculed, actually be true?

The Power of Imagery with Nina Schuyler

September 12 & 13 on Zoom
Enrollment closes Thursday, September 3 at 7:00 PM Pacific

If your descriptions are vivid but your stories still feel thin, this workshop is for you.

Join award-winning author Nina Schuyler to learn the difference between description, which tells a reader what things look like, and imagery, which carries plot, character, and meaning at the same time.

In just two days, you'll learn to choose images that hold emotion without naming it, pair them so each one deepens the other, and build patterns that gather meaning as the story moves.
