I drifted through the gallery, one eye on the Da Vinci while the other watched the security guards.
It was my third loop through room 24b. The guard in her prim uniform feigned disinterest, but she was watching me through her shaggy blonde fringe. Even the guard in 24c had clocked me; there’d been some non-verbal communication between those two.
I sidled over and lightly touched the frame. Sirens blared. Instantly I was circled by neat blue uniforms.
Natasha winked as she was hustled out with the other visitors. Amazing how they never notice she wasn’t pregnant when she came in.
Teamwork. Good one.
Nice!
Really loved this one – simple but effective with a nice little surprise – some achievement in such a short word count.
