Alyssa stabs herself with icicles, pushing them into her left palm, looking at her teenage blood as it comes out and freezes. She mixes her facial peeling with snow, hisses as she massages it in. Some days all she eats is ice-cream.
On Thursday, she finds the courage and rings the bell of Fro’s house. The button is crusty with frost. After a minute, crystal-clear clinks of icy shoes.
The door opens—a rush of cold air—and Frostina, Alyssa’s new classmate, unattainable idol and the Snow Queen’s daughter, sneers coldly.
“Hey…I was thinking…maybe we could do something together?”
Another surprise ending. I like the twist to this one, too.
