“It happened in a flash. I was paying attention, officer. I always drive with just one hand. It’s comfortable. I’m a good driver, aside from those speeding tickets. The speed limit says twenty. But, no one drives that slowly. The road was slick. Regardless, I drive it daily and know all the bends and dips. I was thinking about an argument at work. The meeting hadn’t gone well and it made me mad. The phone buzzed. I reached for it just to check who was calling. Suddenly, a small pink dress ran into the street… There was a horrible, squishing thud…”
Enjoyable for what is not said and the picture that comes to mind.
An excellent reminder to all of us to pay attention to our driving…at all times! Good story.
Clever how the light-hearted tone is abruptly changed to seriousness with a moral edge.
