By Peggy Gerber
When Debbie heard the intruder enter her kitchen, her heart began hammering in her chest. “Not again,” she raged as she made the decision not to be a victim.
Without making a sound, she grabbed a baseball bat, tiptoed to the kitchen, and peeked in. A sneer began to curl her lips as she watched the thieving bastard munching her expensive vegan granola bars like they were penny candy. She paid sixteen dollars in Whole Foods for that box of snacks.
With a mighty roar, Debbie charged into the kitchen and swung her bat. “Take that you stupid mouse!” she bellowed.
What a great twist. I loved this!

LOL funny ending.
What a fun twist. And those expensive granola bars! Although I kind of hope she didn’t ACTUALLY clobber the mouse with a baseball bat!
Clever and complete.

You had me from the first line, and your last line caught me totally off guard–exactly as it was supposed to.
