She cocks her head and her menacing eyes land on me. The sweat glands in my armpits go into overdrive as I grab a broom and inch closer, noiselessly.
My nemesis remains glued to her spot, unbothered. As if she owns the room. Huh!
There’s no way I can be nonchalant like this loathly lizard. And neither can I be generous. I refuse to share my territory. It’s either her or me!
I wave the broom. Instead of scampering towards the open window, she bares her teeth at me.
I dash out, shuddering and gasping.
Today’s score? 0-1.
There’s always tomorrow.
I like the way you make an epic moment out of a seemingly ordinary encounter with a pest.
Nicely done!
Thank you ?
Excellent story. And you just described exactly how I would handle an animal intruder. Thank you.
I had to get a bat out of the house. I appreciate your story,
