“I’ve got a commission painting a ceiling. It’s keeping me really busy. I’ve got a crick in my neck and my back’s killing me. I wanted to do a nice seascape with a few gulls, but this chap wants 1100m2 of religious stuff.
I’ve started my Moses sculpture, but had to put it on hold. Should I give him horns? What do you think?
Yes, really looking forward to coming home for Christmas. I miss Florence.
Love you too, Mum.”
Michelangelo puts down the phone and jumps into his warm bath. There’s nothing like soothing water to make you feel alive.
Good one. Never thought about Michelangelo getting a crick in his neck. (Or having a phone for that matter.)
But does he sparkle in the sunlight? 😉
Awesome story!
The tension is wonderful. Great ending.
