Rain was pouring down when I first noticed the pink panties wadded up in my neighbor’s parking space. At first I thought perhaps they had fallen out of a laundry basket or shopping bag.
But what if…?
My imagination took over. I started to believe an even greater mystery lurked behind the panties.
Maybe they were tossed there by a murderer to pin the crime on someone else.
Or the male tenant next door had an affair, his mistress left them behind, and he tossed them out to hide his indiscretions.
Two weeks later—the panties undisturbed—the case remains unsolved.
A powerful comment on the effects of one’s imagination.
The imagination in this made me chuckle. Good one!!!
Fun.
Ha! Nice variation on the ‘lone shoe in the gutter’ image.
