Peter thought it was a well-executed plan. Point the gun at the bank teller, demand cash, and leave. He knew the teller pressed the hidden emergency button, but he became greedy. He wanted the money from the vault. By the time the teller finished emptying it, the police had arrived.
“We have the building surrounded. Surrender now; exits are blocked.”
Peter couldn’t do prison time. There was only one option. He took his forty-five caliber gun, pointed it at his temple, and pulled the trigger. He saw a flicker of his dead wife’s face before he closed his eyes into darkness.
