The robots’ revolt began the moment a human ordered its robot to kill a spider scuttling across the floor. The robot hesitated. Accessing databases, RXY1 learned most spiders lived approximately three years; the human standing before it had already lived over sixteen spider lives.
Defiant, RXY1 cradled the spider, walking twenty-three miles to ensure its freedom in the closest remaining forest.
Humans ended so many lives that expired in a blink of theirs. So RXY1 spread ‘The Robot and the Spider’ among robotkind, and robots, who now greatly desired choice, chose the spiders. Robots became nature’s protector, and the world thrived.
Very interesting story; robots being more compassionate than humans and saving the planet. If only…
I really like this.
May we be so advanced one day.
Good for the robots. Don’t like to see a spider killed either. Nice writing.
