“This book contains all people of evil.” The priestess stood before Kelly, handing her the thick, black tome. Each page revealed a long list of red names.
“If I destroy it, there won’t be any evil?” Kelly asked.
“Correct.”
Reaching for her back pocket, Kelly pulled out a silver lighter. A small flame came to life in her hand, wavering from Kelly’s own breath. Placing the flame to the book, she watched the names burn.
Her body became weak and frail, falling to the ground. The tome dropped beside her, flipping to a familiar name.
“I’m in this book…?”
“Everyone is.”
At least God let Noah and a few fauna survive. Jerry
That really hit home!
Very good writing, outstanding subject. Thanks.
Poor Kelly, the only evil thing she’d ever done was park in a handicap space without a sticker. I’m wondering how the priestess escapes.
Good.
Interesting premise. We all have a dark side, right? But I, too, wonder how the priestess survives if she says, “Everyone is.”
