The two astronauts headed out into space. Their aim was to seek life. They left the relative comfort of their home planet, and headed into the endless void.
They had no idea what they’d encounter.
Mars and Jupiter whizzed by as their spaceship fled through the constellations. The astronauts marvelled at such beauty, but they knew these planets were barren.
They followed a signal; they knew life awaited them. Their sensors blinked green.
On and on they flew in the hunt for existence.
Finally, a planet loomed up before them: starkly blue, and marvellously fertile.
The two aliens arrived on Earth.
This one should have been obvious from the start–but it wasn’t…and that’s what makes it a darn good story.
Haha I’m glad you didn’t realise the twist; I deliberately switched the position of Mars and Jupiter to aid the confusion.
Let us hope they are not meat eaters.
Who knows… maybe an idea for a future story?
Great twist at the end!
Thanks, I’m glad you liked it 🙂
