“Tears make you look ridiculous.” She throws words at me like stones.
“He left me!” I scream, sucking in salty droplets mixed with diluted smoky black mascara.
“Listen, you took this job to meet Mr. Right, and that jerk ain’t him. What if The One walks in tonight? Do you really think he’s going to look twice at a snot soaked face?” Her judgmental eyes stare at me.
“Fine.”

You came through with a totally unexpected ending. Loved it!
Thank you! I appreciate your feedback!
I enjoyed how you set the stage, the words you used to keep me riveted to the story and the hook “you took this job.” The final sentence was a mild suprise but a good ending. Please offer us more of your works.
Thank you! I will definitely keep at it with more writing – I appreciate your feedback!
This is excellent stirring work where you make your reader want more. So proud of you. Can’t wait for the next one ?
Thank you! I have one I’m revising, so I’m hoping you’ll see that soon!
Lovely twist. Did not expect the “job” to be in performing!
Thank you! You’re very encouraging!
