The relentless gray rains were killing me.
I lay suited up, hands clasped, dreading the Goodbyes.
“Don’t leave me alone! Promise to visit often!” I begged them to stay, but the darn thunderstorms muffled my tight-lipped pleas.
“Oh, they will come every now and then. They always do.” Big Ol’ Henry startled me.
“How do you know for sure?”
“Been there, seen that,” said Ol’ Henry, clicking his charcoal teeth.
“A Welcome Party awaits you,” Little Janine announced. Her contagious cheer caught up on me.
While Ol’ Henry sang BoneyM and Janine played TromBone, I rocked and rolled in my grave.
Nicely done.
Thank you Joanne.
