The Win Win

By @dazmb

When she says she believes in the art of conversation, what she really means is that you listen while she practices her oratory skills.

I mean, I love her, I really do, but she has that slightly demented look in her eye and it’s 11pm already.

I gently stroke her calf with my foot, ‘mmm…sounds like an absolute nightmare.’

I start nuzzling her neck, ‘now come here…’

The pause. Which way will this turn?

…but she relaxes. ‘I’m glad we’re on the same page. That we can talk about this.’

She kisses me ‘So you’ll sort it out?’

‘…course I will.’

The Power of Imagery with Nina Schuyler

September 12 & 13 on Zoom
Enrollment closes Thursday, September 3 at 7:00 PM Pacific

If your descriptions are vivid but your stories still feel thin, this workshop is for you.

Join award-winning author Nina Schuyler to learn the difference between description, which tells a reader what things look like, and imagery, which carries plot, character, and meaning at the same time.

In just two days, you'll learn to choose images that hold emotion without naming it, pair them so each one deepens the other, and build patterns that gather meaning as the story moves.

Sorry – wrong story. But I did like this one, too.

Nice…subtle yet very clear…simple yet full of meaning. This is very good story-telling.
