Things To Come

April 8, 2023 9 Comments

By Jerry Jerman

So after we’ve been talking a while, this guy, whom I never saw before and had just come right up to me on the street, he says, “I’m here from the future.” Naturally, I’m a little skeptical. I have to quiz him. What’s it like in the future? He says it’s a lot like it is now, only different. Oh? Different how? He says, “Well, for one thing we let cats and dogs eat at the table with us, even sample food right off our plates.” Really? That doesn’t sound very sanitary. He says, “What’re you gonna do? It’s the future.”

The Power of Imagery with Nina Schuyler

September 12 & 13 on Zoom
Enrollment closes Thursday, September 3 at 7:00 PM Pacific

If your descriptions are vivid but your stories still feel thin, this workshop is for you.

Join award-winning author Nina Schuyler to learn the difference between description, which tells a reader what things look like, and imagery, which carries plot, character, and meaning at the same time.

In just two days, you'll learn to choose images that hold emotion without naming it, pair them so each one deepens the other, and build patterns that gather meaning as the story moves.
