TICK TICK TICK, pulsates like a jackhammer in my head.
Slowly I opened my eyes, and saw with horror.
60 seconds, tick tick tick
Why is this happening? What have I done?
50 Seconds, tick tick tick
My life is over.
40 Seconds, tick tick tick
Wide awake now, desperate.
30 seconds, tick tick tick
I’m too young, I scream inside.
20 seconds, tick tick tick
I need to move, but I’m frozen.
10 seconds, tick tick tick
MOVE NOW. Nothing. My body has become stone.
Beep beep beep
The alarm sounds. Childhood over, time to start my first ever job.
Great twisty flash. 🙂
Really liked what you did with this story. The lead in, the cadence, then the end, just like real life.
Both serious and humorous at the same time. Nice comment on the human condition.
All too true!
I found myself, holding my breath, at the end, I released my held in air. Great story!
