Time to Reflect

Time to Reflect

By Rebecca Goldthorpe

The man walked over to the water, cautiously. Catching his unfamiliar reflection dancing on the meniscus, bile rose momentarily. He leant over, dropped the bags in, then watched warily as Nina, and fear, sank fast…

The man walked over to the water, swiftly. They had come here as lovers. He dropped the bags in. Feeling in control, he watched as hysterical Emma disappeared…

The Medway Murderer walked over to the water, secure in his increasing confidence. Deborah was the lightest yet. Then he saw the lights. Floodlit from all directions by strobing cyan blue.

This time, they were waiting for him.

The Power of Imagery with Nina Schuyler

September 12 & 13 on Zoom
Enrollment closes Thursday, September 3 at 7:00 PM Pacific

If your descriptions are vivid but your stories still feel thin, this workshop is for you.

Join award-winning author Nina Schuyler to learn the difference between description, which tells a reader what things look like, and imagery, which carries plot, character, and meaning at the same time.

In just two days, you'll learn to choose images that hold emotion without naming it, pair them so each one deepens the other, and build patterns that gather meaning as the story moves.

Particularly regarding unsavory acts, and no matter how cautious one attempts to be, crime does not pay.

The breadth and progression of this story is remarkable. We see the eventual lose of a conscience, and how a man paves his way to become a monster.
