She hesitated, heard the snoring, and plunged beneath the pillowcase. She thrust a silver coin under the pillow and emerged, clutching the tooth in a thin, clawed hand.
It always amused her how readily humans accepted bonding contracts with the Fae. She placed the tooth in her silken sack along with the others. She relished collecting the bones of humans, preventing them from a peaceful rest once they died.
Moronic humans. Lost souls bound to her, tormented, eternally searching for their taken teeth, and never resting until all their bones were buried.
She savored the impending fate of the unwitting child.
I love this. We underestimate the fae at our own peril.
Thanks!
