The deal was simple: she needed quick cash; he wanted to smash first. Once. She said no outright, disappointing her lordy and loaded boss for my sake.
He told me point blank what she had said about being sad, mad, unhappy to fall out of favour with him and yet fearful of losing, tossing six years of our life together over scraps.
I knew it was honesty raw, his quip about wanting her just because I loved her, adored her. So it comforts me beyond measure to know that even under intense pressure, she still considers me—us—an immense treasure.
Happy to finally read this. It’s one that’ll treasure for life especially because it actually happened.
Great snappy shotgun style!
“Treasure” takes on clever multiple meanings.
Thanks. Glad you loved it. Karibu Kenya.
I love it. Keep at it, you clearly have what it takes.
