Every single fiber of their being willed the tiny bundle of someone else’s DNA to just breathe; just make it through the night; just show recognition at the sweet-soft song, 24/7 for weeks.
Computers balanced on knees blinked and hummed during midnight work catch-up sessions.
They cried uncontrollably when doctors finally pulled the tube from the tiny throat and a tiny smile appeared. Eyes watered freely on discharge day…first sit-up…first step…first bite of solid food bypassing the feeding tube. But those waterworks did not compare to the flood of happy tears upon the judge’s final statement…
“ADOPTION FINAL!”
Love this. You dropped the breadcrumbs, but I didn’t guess. Well done. Congratulations!
Lovely. I didn’t guess the ending either!
Such a beautiful, moving story. Nicely done!
Beautifully said!
I genuinely enjoyed reading your story. Your narrative style, pacing, and emotional depth are impressive, and I can easily imagine how much your readers must love it. But I kept thinking how incredible it would look as a visual experience. Your story has the perfect structure for a comic or webtoon adaptation. I specialize in transforming written stories into engaging visual formats, and I believe this project can shine even more with expressive artwork. If you’re interested, I would love to collaborate and bring your imagination to life. I’m confident you’ll appreciate my work as much as I’ll enjoy working with you.
