She arose before the sun to prepare a hearty breakfast for her son, who, being the ambitious lad he was, would travel farther today than ever.
He had assured her of his success, but she couldn’t shake off the worry that he was overambitious for his age and was concerned that he had not fully considered the potential danger inherent in this journey. One could always go too far on one’s quest, and bad things could happen.
She checked the clock and called upstairs to wake him. “Time to get up, sleepyhead. The sun is rising. Time to get up, Icarus.”
So Icarus needed his mother to get him up? Don’t all sons?
Nice ending. If only she had let him sleep in.
Witty twist. Nicely done.
Witty and fun.
Love this point of view! Great twist, relatable of not knowing the days potential
Fun ending!!
